Anxiety is a thin, suffocating shroud that settles slowly over a person, obscuring their personality and blurring emotions and thoughts until they become indistinguishable.
The performance process reveals the impossibility of telling one's own story. The artist approaches a discarded typewriter, encrusted with the dust of time. They press their fingertips onto the dusty keys corresponding to the letters that make up the phrase "A veil of anxiety turns me grey", thereby transferring the dust onto an adhesive sheet.
The fingerprints prevent the reading of the phrase, just like chronic anxiety which leaves no room for a coherent narrative of the self—erasing discourse and reducing identity to a mute imprint, tangible proof of a passage that has gradually extinguished every emotion.

L'ansia è una coltre sottile e soffocante che si deposita lentamente sulla persona, oscurandone la personalità e appannando emozioni e pensieri fino a renderli indistinguibili.
Il processo performativo svela l'impossibilità di raccontarsi. L'artista si accosta a una macchina da scrivere abbandonata e incrostata dalla polvere del tempo. Preme i polpastrelli sui tasti polverosi in corrispondenza delle lettere che compongono la frase "A veil of anxiety turns me grey" (Un velo di ansia mi ingrigisce), trasferendo così la polvere su un foglio adesivo.
Le impronte digitali impediscono la lettura della frase, proprio come l'ansia cronica che non lascia spazio a una narrazione coerente del sé, cancellando il discorso e riducendo l'identità a un'impronta muta, prova tangibile di un passaggio che ha gradualmente spento ogni emozione.
