We work ourselves to exhaustion just to enjoy brief moments of real life. We devote all our time—time that no one will ever give back to us—to the pursuit of dreams that, far too often, will never come true.
This isn’t pessimism, it’s awareness. We’re taught that life is a wheel that turns, and that’s absolutely true. What we’re not told is that it spins within a system built on results, profit, productivity, and debt.
We go into debt to buy things in a desperate attempt to ease our dissatisfaction. We’re obsessed with the fear of failing at work, in the family, in society.
Once, people dreamed of living happily and in good health; today, we wear ourselves down with debt, hardship, and stress, dreaming of making it to the end of the month.

The piece was created inside a factory that went bankrupt and has been abandoned since 1985.

Lavoriamo allo sfinimento per poter godere di brevi momenti di vita vera. Impegniamo tutto il nostro tempo – quello che nessuno ci potrà mai ridare indietro – alla ricerca di sogni che, troppo spesso, non si realizzeranno mai.
Non è pessimismo, è consapevolezza. Ci insegnano che la vita è una ruota che gira, ed è assolutamente vero. Quello che non ci dicono è che gira attorno ad un sistema che si basa sul risultato, sul profitto, la produttività e il debito.
Ci indebitiamo per comprare cose nel disperato tentativo che possano allievare le nostre insoddisfazioni. Siamo ossessionati dalla paura di fallire nel lavoro, nella famiglia, nella società.
Un tempo si sognava di vivere felici e in salute, oggi ci ammazziamo di debiti, fatiche e stress sognando di arrivare alla fine del mese.
