THE EARLY STEPS OF CIARCIASTRO
CIARCIASTRO
Civitacampomarano, 2023 - 3,20 x 0,30 mt - spray paint
“Ciarciastro” is a word that cannot be found in any dictionary or corner of the internet. In the digital age, it is exceptionally rare to encounter a word with no online presence. This linguistic void prompted the artist to bring the word to life, documenting its initial non-existence through screenshots.
The artist wrote this word on a wall in Civitacampomarano, inviting spectators and locals to give life to—and grow—a word that does not exist within the "Molise that does not exist."
The birth and growth of this word will depend on people's participation: by writing “Ciarciastro” on social media, in hashtags, blogs, comments, or across any digital platform, the word will become indexed over time on the internet, steadily growing and earning its existential space.
Spread it however you see fit, but spread it, even if it might seem useless to you. Because a word, even when devoid of meaning, is never useless.
