HEAVY MEAL / SERIES

In a democratic society, work is a fundamental tool for civil and economic progress. But what progress can there be if the workplace yields no emancipation, growth, or fulfillment?
For instance, the work of food delivery riders is governed by algorithms that expand control and distribution to the point of becoming inaccessible, authoritarian, and absolute. The algorithm dictates routes, paces, and distances to bridge—those between rider and consumer—as well as unbridgeable gaps—those between rider and the management behind the algorithm and the delivered goods.
The need to survive within this system turns young people, students, and the unemployed into "next-generation slaves." Day after day, they are forced to bear the constant burden of missing rights, underpaid and precarious contracts, a lack of dialogue or human connection, and a total absence of insurance coverage.
The concrete bags represent the daily strain required to endure the heavy fallout of the "I want it all and I want it now" era.
