Stencibility Festival - Tartu, 2016 / 0,95 x 0,15 mt - pvc printed plates
Site-specific intervention created in Tartu on the stump of a centuries-old tree.
Small plates equipped with QR codes were applied to each growth ring of the trunk, with each ring representing a year in the tree's life. By scanning the codes, viewers can uncover the most significant historical events that occurred in Estonia year by year, connecting national history with the biological lifespan of the tree.
The installation demonstrates how a tree stump—an everyday element that often remains invisible or ignored by passersby—is actually a living archive and a tangible witness to real history, inviting us to reconnect with collective memory.
