RESURRECTION with ELFO
Bussana Vecchia (IM), 2017 / 10 x 2,20 mt - construction safety net, spray can
A site-specific intervention realized inside the church of Bussana Vecchia, a small village partially destroyed by a violent earthquake in 1887. On that day, a severe tremor caused the collapse of the village and claimed numerous lives—most of whom were gathered inside the church attending Mass.
The village remained abandoned until the 1950s, when a group of Italian and international artists decided to settle there, restoring the ruins and establishing studios and workshops.
By painting part of a construction safety net black—the color of mourning—a message emerges that provocatively evokes the biblical concept of a miracle, specifically the swift Resurrection of Christ after three days. The artwork prompts a temporal reflection on the impossibility of truly rebuilding the site, except through artistic will and creativity.

Intervento realizzato all'interno della chiesa di Bussana Vecchia, piccolo paese che nel 1887 fu semidistrutto da un violento terremoto. Quel giorno una forte scossa provocò il crollo del piccolo villaggio provocando numerosi morti, la maggior parte dei quali erano in quel momento in chiesa ad assistere alla messa.
Il paese rimase abbandonato fino al 1950 quando un gruppo di artisti italiani ed internazionali decide di andare a viverci ristrutturando le abitazioni e costruendo botteghe di arte.
Colorando di nero (colore che rappresenta il lutto) parte di una rete dei lavori in corso fuoriesce un messaggio che, provocatoriamente, richiama il senso biblico di miracolo e nello specifico la risurrezione immediata di Cristo (3 giorni) . Il significato dell'opera offre un ragionamento temporale sull'impossibilità di ricostruzione del luogo se non attraverso la capacità e la volontà artistica.
